Installing an accessible 5 1/4-inch slim drive

► O pen the casing (see "Opening the casing", Page 29).

Do not throw away the covers. If you remove the drive again, you must reinstall the

covers (cooling, ﬁre protection or EMC regulations to be complied with).

You must only use the screws recommended by th e manufacturer. Long screws

could dam age the drive or prevent it from working properly.

► If necessary, remove the plastic drive cover (see "Removing the plastic drive cover", Page 33).

► Remove the drive cage (see "

Remov

ing the drive cage", Page 3 4).

► Slide the new drive as far as it will go

into the drive cage (1).

► Fasten the screws (2).

► Install the drive cage again (see "

Install ing

the drive cage", Page 35).

► Connect th e connector for the da

ta and

power cables to the drive.

► C lose the casing (see "

Closing t he casing", Page 30).

It may be n ece ssary to modify the entry for the drive in the BIOS Setup accordingly.
