Connecting external devices
Connecting an external SATA hard disk (eSATA)
An extern al SATA hard disk can be connected at the eSATA port. This allows you
to expand the internal h ard disk capacity as you wish.
The length of the eSATA cable m ust not exceed 2 metres. Consult a specialist
dealer for advice on which eSATA dat a cable is suitable for your external eSATA
hard disk. Ma ke sure that the hard disk has its own external power supply.
The data transfer rate is up to 2,4 00 Mbit/s.

Connect the data cable to the external
device.
Connect the data cable to the eSATA port.
Device d rivers
The eSATA hard disk is automatically recognise d by your operating system and installed.
You will nd more information in the documentation for the external SATA
hard disk and the operating system.
Safe removal of eSATA and USB devices
Always corre
ctly remove the device according to the rules described below,
to ensure tha
t none of your data is lost.
Left-click on the symbol to remove hard ware safely.
Select the
device you wish to shu t do wn and remove.
Press the "Enter" key.
Wait for t
he dialogue box which tells you that it is now safe to remove the device .
